Welcome to the Rotary Club of Denver Mile High.  I am delighted that you are viewing our website and hope that you are learning more about our Club and Rotary International.

I was in Birmingham England in June at the Rotary International Convention.  And international it was, with 20,000 Rotarians and friends from around the world.  The Rotary theme introduced at the meeting is “The Future of Rotary is in your Hands.”  The message throughout the sessions was on the Rotary partnerships with other organizations that have made an impact on the world.

These two messages give us a unique opportunity to define ourselves.  Our members are dedicated and willing to get involved, whether by entertaining children, teaching teen moms or giving Zimbabwean youth the knowledge to avoid AIDS.  Every hour spent in community projects, whether in Denver or Kenya, make us better individuals and makes Rotary stronger.

But we have also learned to be good partners with other organizations.   Working with the World Health Organization and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, we will eradicate polio soon. There are many other partnerships that work as well:  with local schools, senior housing organizations, orphanages, engineering firms, facilitation organizations.   We love these collaborations that stretch our dollars and increase the impact of our efforts.

And our enthusiasm must be contagious.  In July alone, we have added six new club members.  We believe they want to share in our projects but also in our fellowship.  Our mini dinners are renowned as social and fundraising events where small groups of club members can get to know each other (and sometimes even cook their own dinners.)  Our Annual Hole in One Shootout offers golfers the chance to win One Million Dollars with a hole in one.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary as a club in May.  But we don’t feel old or act old. Our Wednesday morning breakfasts are great and we have exciting and interesting speakers.  Come visit us and find out for yourself.   We want to share the fun.
