Welcome to the Rotary Club of Denver Mile High Webpage.  My name is Joe Pahl (Joey to the Club).  I am the Club President for the Rotary year 2011-12. Hopefully, you will find our website educational and informative. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me directly at joe.pahl@pahlarch.com or at 303-861-7147 X111.

Rotary is the world's first service club with over 1.2 million members, in almost 34,000 clubs, in over 200 countries literally around the world. The first Rotary Club was started in Chicago by Paul Harris and 3 business friends.  The 'Rotary Wheel' symbolizes the moving around to the others' offices to get to know the ROTARIANS and serve the community of Chicago. From those 'small' beginnings, Rotary is now world wide and part of numerous international projects.  Presently, one of our most important projects is in association with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to ERADICATE Polio from our earth.

The Rotary International motto is "Service Above Self". Denver Mile High endeavors to fulfill this motto through service projects throughout the world.  Our club has many opportunities for you to get involved in local community service, as well as world community service. Rotary club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace, and eradicate polio. Presently, there are active projects here in Denver and in Africa, Asia, Haiti and Central America which DMH'ers champion.

I invite you to join us for a club meeting. We meet every Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM at the University Club (on the southwest corner of 17th Avenue and Sherman Street). We enjoy fellowship, breakfast and a thirty-minute program each week.  Your first breakfast will be our "treat". Our meeting ends promptly at 8:30 AM.

There are many Rotary clubs in the Denver metropolitan area. Seriously, Every Rotary club has its own unique personality. Hopefully, if you visit the Denver Mile High Rotary Club you will find a good fit, that meets your need to serve and your expectations.

The "official RI President's theme for this Rotary year is "Reach within to Embrace Humanity!" This 'theme', the "SERVICE ABOVE SELF" motto and the Rotary '4-Way Test' (Of the things we think, say and do 1) Is it the TRUTH? 2) Is it FAIR to all concerned? 3) Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4) Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?) are the foundation of DMH Rotary for 2011-12.  We would like you to consider joining us.
